What is a white label sportsbook?
A white label sportsbook is a ready-built sports betting platform that an operator puts its own brand on and launches, instead of funding a ground-up build. The platform supplies the betting product, risk tools, player accounts and wallet; the operator supplies the brand, licence, marketing and provider contracts.
On this page, white label means a sportsbook built on Capermint's reusable base and run under your licence. It is not a licence rental. That distinction matters in the US and Ontario, where regulators license or register the operator and, in most cases, platform suppliers as well.

What you get with a Capermint white label sportsbook
Each module ships configured for your brand and market and can be extended later. The proposal lists which parts come from the reusable base, which are third-party and which are built new.
Branded front end
Your brand on a responsive web app and PWA, with native iOS and Android apps when needed. American, decimal or fractional odds, in your languages and currencies.
Bet engine and bet slip
Bet placement with odds-change handling and acceptance rules for singles, parlays, same-game parlays, teasers and system bets, plus cash-out where permitted. Every bet is written to an auditable ledger.
Odds feed integration
Pre-match and live prices from the licensed data providers you contract, mapped to your sports, leagues and markets, with automatic suspension when the feed signals a dangerous event or goes stale.
Trading and risk management
Liability by event, market and selection, stake and payout limits, player risk profiles, live bet delay, alerts for sharp or correlated betting, and manual price and market controls for your traders.
Settlement and results
Automatic settlement from results feeds, voids, pushes and dead-heat rules, with audited resettlement.
PAM and wallet
Registration, KYC status, a single wallet and ledger, deposit and time limits, and self-exclusion. Already have a PAM? We connect to it instead.
Payments and cashier
Your chosen payment providers for cards, online banking and e-wallets where permitted, with withdrawals, fraud checks and reconciliation.
Compliance and geolocation
Geolocation checks, age and identity verification, responsible gambling tools, suspicious-bet reporting, audit logs and regulator reports, configured per jurisdiction.
Back office, bonuses and CRM
Free bets, odds boosts and deposit offers, player segmentation, affiliate tracking, and dashboards for finance and compliance.
Bet types and markets your sportsbook can offer
We configure the US majors (NFL, NBA, MLB, NHL), college sports where permitted, soccer, tennis, golf, MMA and boxing, cricket and esports where approved. Which markets you can switch on depends on your licence: several US states restrict bets on in-state college teams, and regulators approve the event types you may offer.
| Bet type | What it is | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Moneyline / match result | Pick the winner (or win-draw-win) | Core market |
| Point spread / handicap | Margin of victory, incl. Asian handicap | Feed-priced or trader-priced |
| Totals (over/under) | Combined score above or below a line | Game, period and team totals |
| Parlays and system bets | Several selections in one bet, incl. round robins | Leg and payout limits in risk tools |
| Same-game parlays | Several selections from one event | Needs correlated pricing from a provider that supports it |
| Props | Player and game propositions | Some states restrict college player props |
| Futures and outrights | Season, tournament and award markets | Liability tracked until settlement |
| Live (in-play) | Bets placed while the event runs | Bet delay, suspension and official data rules apply |
| Cash-out | Settle a bet early at a calculated price | Offered only where the regulator allows it |
White label vs turnkey vs custom sportsbook
The three models trade speed against control. A classic white label betting platform is a fast way in where the provider's licence covers your market, but it usually takes a share of revenue and limits your product. A white-label build on a reusable base keeps most of that speed while you hold the licence and set the rules. Custom gives full control at the highest upfront cost.
| Factor | Classic white label | Capermint white-label build (your licence) | Custom build |
|---|---|---|---|
| Who holds the licence | The provider in some offshore markets; you in US states and Ontario | You | You |
| Time to market | Fastest, where the provider's licence covers your market | Typically 6–10 weeks of build | Months, scoped after discovery |
| Upfront cost | Lowest: a setup fee | Typically $35K–$120K | Typically $60K–$180K single-vertical; $200K–$500K+ multi-vertical |
| Ongoing fees | Usually a share of GGR or NGR, often with monthly minimums | Base licence, support and third-party fees, listed in the proposal | Hosting, third-party fees and your own team or a support contract |
| Product and trading control | Limited to the provider's roadmap and risk settings | High: your UX, promotions, limits and trading rules | Full |
| Code and data | Provider owns the platform; check data portability | Bespoke code per contract; base components licensed | Bespoke code transfers per contract |
| Fits | Testing a market where provider licensing is allowed | Licensed operators who need speed and control | Operators with scale, a distinctive product or many markets |
Classic white-label terms are typical market patterns, not Capermint terms; we do not rent licences. Capermint price ranges are typical software-build ranges in USD; final quotes follow a scoping call.

White label sportsbook cost and timeline
These are typical ranges for the software build in USD. Final quotes follow a scoping call, and the proposal itemizes every module and integration.
| Scope | What it covers | Typical range (USD) | Timeline |
|---|---|---|---|
| White-label sportsbook | Reusable base with your brand, one odds and data provider, pre-match and live markets, PAM and wallet (or your PAM), payments, KYC, geolocation, back office, web and PWA | $35K–$120K | 6–10 weeks |
| Custom single-vertical sportsbook | Bespoke bet engine, trading tools, PAM, wallet and back office designed around your product | $60K–$180K | Scoped after discovery |
| Custom multi-vertical platform | Sportsbook plus casino, poker or other verticals on one wallet and player account, multi-market controls and data migration | $200K–$500K+ | Scoped after discovery, usually phased |
What moves the price within the range
- Number of sports, leagues and markets, and whether live betting and cash-out are in scope
- Native iOS and Android apps in addition to web and PWA
- Number of jurisdictions, each with its own geolocation, limits and reports
- Number of odds, payment, KYC and CRM providers to integrate
- In-house trading tools versus a managed trading service
- Migrating players and balances from an existing platform
Costs outside the build
Budget separately for licence fees, odds and data feeds, managed trading, KYC and geolocation checks, payment processing, hosting, lab testing and integrity monitoring, paid to those providers directly. For a full business budget, see how to start a sportsbook business.
Tech stack and integrations
The platform is event-driven so odds updates, bet acceptance and settlement stay consistent during peak events such as Sunday NFL slates. Several US states require wagering servers to sit inside state borders, so hosting location is decided per licence, not per project.
| Layer | What we use or integrate |
|---|---|
| Front end | React and Next.js for web and PWA; React Native, Flutter, Swift or Kotlin for apps |
| Real-time odds | WebSocket push to players, Redis price cache and market suspension events |
| Bet engine and ledger | Node.js or Go services, a PostgreSQL ledger with idempotent bet and settlement transactions, and a Kafka event stream |
| Infrastructure | AWS or GCP with Docker and Kubernetes, hosted in the region or state your regulator requires |
| Odds, results and data | Licensed providers you contract, via REST, push or WebSocket feeds, with a secondary feed for failover if needed |
| Player and payments | PAM, single wallet, payment providers, KYC and age verification, geolocation, self-exclusion lists |
| Engagement and reporting | Bonus engine, CRM, affiliate tracking, push notifications, BI exports and regulator report generation |

Licensing, compliance and markets
Our role: Capermint is a software development company. We do not operate sportsbooks, hold or sublicense gaming licences, or resell odds feeds. Operators are responsible for licensing; we build to the technical requirements of the target jurisdiction. Many US states license sportsbook platform suppliers and Ontario registers gaming-related suppliers, so during discovery we plan with you and your counsel how that requirement is met. This page is general information, not legal advice; rules vary and change, so confirm your plan with gaming counsel.
United States
Since the Supreme Court decided Murphy v. NCAA on May 14, 2018, each state decides whether and how to allow sports betting, and it is now legal in most states through state licensing. Some states allow only retail betting or limit online betting to one or a few operators, and many tie online licences to existing casinos, tribes or venues, so new brands often enter through a market-access partner. States also set their own rules for operator and supplier licensing, geolocation inside state borders, minimum age (21 in most states), permitted events, official league data for some live markets, responsible gambling, data hosting and reporting. The offshore white-label model, where a brand runs under the provider's licence, does not apply in regulated states.
Canada and Ontario
The Safe and Regulated Sports Betting Act (Royal Assent June 29, 2021) allowed provinces to offer single-event sports betting. Ontario has run a regulated open iGaming market since April 4, 2022: operators register with the AGCO and enter an operating agreement with iGaming Ontario, suppliers of gaming-related products and services register with the AGCO, and platforms must meet the Registrar's Standards for Internet Gaming. Outside Ontario, online betting has been offered through provincial lottery corporations; provincial frameworks are changing, so check each province's current status.
Other licensed markets
The UK, EU member states, Brazil (Law 14.790/2023), African markets such as Nigeria and Kenya, and APAC each run their own licensing regimes. Some markets still allow a brand to operate under a provider's licence; many now require a direct licence. In India, the Promotion and Regulation of Online Gaming Act 2025 prohibits online money games, so for India we build only free-to-play, social and e-sports formats.
Testing and certification: we build sportsbook systems ready for independent testing by accredited labs such as GLI, iTech Labs or BMM, against standards such as GLI-33 (Event Wagering Systems). Certification is obtained by the operator or platform owner; Capermint holds no GLI, iTech Labs or BMM certificate.

White label sportsbook FAQ
What is a white label sportsbook?
A white label sportsbook is a ready-built sports betting platform that an operator rebrands and launches instead of building one from scratch. It usually includes the betting front end, bet engine, odds feed integration, risk tools, player accounts, wallet and back office. In some offshore markets the provider also supplies the licence; in US states and Ontario the operator needs its own licence or registration.
How much does a white label sportsbook cost?
With Capermint, a white-label or turnkey sportsbook build typically costs $35K–$120K (USD), depending on sports and markets, live betting, apps and the number of integrations. A custom single-vertical sportsbook runs $60K–$180K. Licence fees, odds and data feeds, KYC, geolocation, payments, hosting and lab testing are separate third-party costs, and the final quote follows a scoping call.
How long does it take to launch a white label sportsbook?
A typical Capermint white-label or turnkey launch takes 6–10 weeks of build once scope is agreed. Licensing, supplier approvals, odds feed contracts and payment accounts often take longer than the build itself, so we plan that work to run in parallel with development.
What is the difference between a white label and a turnkey sportsbook?
The main differences are who holds the licence and how much you control. A classic white label runs on the provider's platform, sometimes under the provider's licence, usually for a setup fee plus a revenue share. A turnkey sportsbook runs under your own licence, with more control over trading, product and data, and usually a higher upfront cost. Capermint's white label is built on our reusable base and always runs under your licence.
Can I launch a white label sportsbook in the United States?
Yes, but only under state licensing. Sports betting is legal in most US states, and each state sets its own rules for operators, suppliers, geolocation, age and identity checks, permitted markets and reporting; some states allow only retail betting or a few online operators. The offshore model of launching under a provider's licence does not apply, so the operator, often through a market-access partner, must hold the required licence.
What does a sportsbook need to launch in Ontario?
An Ontario sportsbook needs AGCO registration as an operator, an operating agreement with iGaming Ontario, and a platform that meets the Registrar's Standards for Internet Gaming, which cover player account management, responsible gambling and game integrity. Suppliers of gaming-related products and services also register with the AGCO. Ontario's regulated open market has run since April 4, 2022.
Which odds feed and data providers can you integrate?
We integrate the licensed odds and sports-data providers you contract, for pre-match and live prices, results and settlement, through their APIs or push feeds. Capermint does not resell odds feeds or sports data. Where a state requires official league data for certain live markets, we map the feed so those markets use the approved source.
Do I own the source code and player data?
Ownership is set in the contract before work starts. Bespoke code written for your project can transfer to you, while the reusable base and third-party components carry their own licences, and the proposal lists which is which. We recommend the contract also confirms that your player database and transaction history stay yours.
What risk management and trading tools are included?
The base covers liability by event, market and selection, stake and payout limits, player risk profiles, live bet delay, automatic market suspension and alerts for unusual betting patterns. You can trade in-house from the back office or connect a managed trading service from your data provider. Limits and rules are configured per jurisdiction.
Is Capermint a sportsbook operator or licence provider?
No. Capermint is a software development company founded in 2014 in Ahmedabad, India. We build, integrate and support sportsbook software; we do not operate sportsbooks, hold or sublicense gaming licences, or resell odds feeds. Operators are responsible for licensing, and we build to the technical requirements of the target jurisdiction. Where a regulator requires platform suppliers to be licensed or registered, we plan how that is met with you and your counsel.
